UPDATE : 9-29-08 THIS DOG IS HOME. POSTED DATE 9-22-08 : We are from Groves, Texas and are currently evacuated due to Hurricane Ike to some of our family's home in Spring Branch, Texas. They live in the Mystic Shores subdivision. Our almost 3 year old female white Miniature Schnauzer KYNZEE has been missing since September 20, 2008. She was wearing a pink collar with her rabies tag and her identification tag. The phone number on the identification tag has not been working because of not having electricity back home at this time. Kynzee is a BIG part of our family and we cannot imagine going home without her. We will do ANYTHING to find her. The Mystic Shores subdivision (on Canyon Lake) is located off of Hwy 306 in Spring Branch, Texas 78070 (Comal County).

I was lost on 05/17/10 right before the big storm, I'm really scared of thunder. I live in the Mystic Shores development on 306. My left ear stands up straight and my teeth are worn down because I play with my "jolly ball" too much. Lost Lab/Aussie/Mix . I live in a giant rural development, with lots of wild creatures/woodlands around. so, after it had been a week that she's been gone, i figured that something awful happened. but, i got a phone call from the security guard that drives around, he saw her walking down a street (about 1/2 mile away from my house), she's on the shy side, especially when it comes to men, so he was not able to catch her. i immediately drove back home and walked around the woods for about an hour....no whipper. couldnt believe it..gone again!! I drove around for 3 hours that day, taped flyers on people's trash cans that were out and continued to walk around....nothing.
then, this morning i got a phone call from a lady that lives about 2 miles away across a very busy highway, but in the same development. shwn she cam home from work last night, whipper was laying in her driveway. she gave her food, water and a bed. then this morning she drove up to the mailbox remembering that she had seen the flyer that i put up last week, got my phone# and called....miracle!! i kept wondering wy she didnt call the number on the tag, but when i looked at it, its so old, that the phone# has worn off!
I just cant believe that a 13 year old big dog can survive for 9 nights in the woods with coyotes, wild pigs, snakes and who knows what else. she's lost a little weight, but not that much....what a survivor!!
anyways, so to make a long story longer, it was the kindness of an animal lover, prayers and a flyer.
this whole process has inspired me to get involved with lot pets. i have a balgian malinois who holds 3 titles in obedience/tracking/guarding, i'm seriously conisdering looking into training her for searching. i spoke with a lady out of dallas who does that type of thing.
